Admissions Process

Due to Covid-19, our usual Admissions process has been modified to ensure the health and safety of our prospective families. To begin the process please sign-up to attend a scheduled "Virtual Talk & Tour" between October and February. Please select a date that works best for you. During the Virtual Talk & Tour you can expect to learn more about St. Columba’s early childhood programming, hear from a current parent and have the opportunity to ask questions. Once you have taken a virtual tour, you will have the option to submit an enrollment application. Families that apply will have the option to attend an in-person socially-distanced visit to our Playground and courtyard from which you can see several of our classrooms.

Admissions Timeline:

Admissions Cycle Closes – March 1, 2021

Admissions Decisions Mailed Out – before March 12, 2021

Financial Aid awards Sent to Families – before March 26, 2021

Enrollment Deposit of $1,000 and Signed Contract due by April 1, 2021 to secure child’s seat

Tuition becomes binding on June 1, 2021


Open Enrollment
Although we normally begin the year fully enrolled, spaces occasionally become available during the school year. If you hope to apply for the 2020-2021 school year, please call the office at (202) 742-1980 to inquire about the waitlist and mid-year admittance.

Special Needs Applicants
Making sure that we are the right school for helping each child grow and learn is our top priority. We save a significant number of spots for children with a variety of challenges but are most successful with children who are interested in socializing with others and have some language abilities. After the application process is completed, children with known special needs are invited to come to a playdate with a parent.  The playdate gives us a chance to get to know your child  and ensure that our program will meet his or her needs and help him or her to develop well under our care.

Application Fee
An application fee of $75 is required for all applicants. We do not require testing or an interview for general admission. Your application is incomplete without the application fee.
