St. Columba's Nursery School: Building the mind, body, and spirit through active play

Welcome From Our Director

A father recently told me that his son asks each day, “Is it a school day or a home day?” Monday through Friday he leaps into his clothes when he hears “school day” but on Saturday, it’s nothing but disappointment. He’d like St. Columba’s Nursery School to be open seven days a week.

What makes our Nursery School such a special place for children? We strive to make children’s needs and growth central to every facet of our program—beginning with teacher visits to every home to meet the children before school begins. We also accept children as they are—from their admission (no interviews, no testing and no screening visits) to their first days at school when we work exceptionally hard to know and understand everything about them. Our wonderful teachers, rich programs, and exceptional outdoor space help our students develop the skills and abilities to become independent, motivated learners and caring members of their school community.

I invite you to learn more about St.Columba’s Nursery School in these pages or at an Admission Talk & Tour. We’d love to welcome you into our school family.

Warmly,

Julia H. Berry
Head of St. Columba’s Nursery School
